For a sex worker respect is an unknown commodity. Instead of respect what they do get are beatings and violence. In the red light areas of Kolkata, they are organising themselves to fight the cruelty. Prema Rajaram has the story of an organizations that looks after their welfare and tries to keep them safe. Close to70,000 sex workers are registered with it.
